Best Printer for Home or Office Use in Kenya

The question that decides everything: how much do you actually print?
For occasional home printing (a few pages a week), a standard inkjet printer has the lowest upfront cost and is perfectly adequate — the running cost of cartridges only becomes a problem at higher volumes.
For regular printing (a few hundred pages a month or more — common in small offices, schools, cyber cafés), an ink tank printer (like Epson EcoTank) has a higher upfront price but dramatically lower running cost per page, usually paying for the price difference within a few months.
Laser printers: when they make sense
For mostly black-and-white text documents at moderate-to-high volume (invoices, reports, forms), a laser printer gives the lowest cost per page and the fastest print speed, with toner that lasts far longer than ink before needing replacement.
Laser is the wrong choice if you print a lot of photos or colour graphics — inkjet and ink tank printers handle colour and photo printing noticeably better.
Practical buying advice
Check that replacement ink/toner for the specific model is easily available in Kenya before buying — some printer models have hard-to-find consumables, which becomes a real problem later even if the printer itself was a good price.
A built-in scanner (multi-function printer) is worth the small extra cost for almost any home or office use — standalone scanning needs come up more often than expected.
